Due to rising petrol prices in Swat, more and more people are turning to electric bikes. For ordinary citizens, these low-cost vehicles have become a major source of relief by reducing daily transportation expenses.
However, the absence of public charging stations has become a major obstacle to the adoption of electric vehicles, especially electric bikes. Most users charge their bikes at home, but frequent power outages and long charging times remain significant challenges with no immediate solution.
Mian Syed Ali, who purchased an electric bike nine months ago, says he is satisfied with his purchase but is concerned about the lack of public charging points.
Zia Ullah, who has been running an electric bike business for the past four years, says that demand for electric bikes has increased significantly this year. However, he believes many people are still hesitant to fully embrace them because there are no public charging stations in the city.
